One week in
Last week I switched from Android to iOS. For the past few years I’ve been using Android phones and tablets. (before that PalmOS, Windows Mobile, WebOS) I was a bit irritated at my Nexus S 4G lately. It had been crashing and locking up randomly. Plus I was grumpy that it still hasn’t been updated to ICS. (selling point of Google’s phone is timely upgrades)
So… After the new iPad was announced I decided to order it. I had a 7 inch tablet and a laptop, but I figured the iPad would be better as a sitting around gadget. My laptop is great, but I don’t love dragging it around the house. The 7 inch tablet was okay, but the screen was a bit small for reading magazines and some web sites.
Then I had the idea that I should just go “all in” with iOS. I never really heard anybody complaining of their iPhone crashing, lagging, and driving them crazy. So… I ordered one.
After a week I must say that I’m happy with my decision. I think that after years of playing with gadgets, rooting, using different ROMs, and such, that I just want my phone to work. My iPhone has, at least so far. The battery life is great too. I’m not too happy that I need to repurchase the apps that I love and use. Even worse, in some cases I can’t find replacement apps that I like. Still, it was worth it.
Planning...
I think it's a winner.
(I hope those pictures of his drunken escapades don't make it to the media.)
What's up?
My wonderfully spunky puppy, Woofgang, has been home since Saturday. I'm now sleep deprived, but it's worth it. No other news, I'm mostly just posting pics and things to http://woofgangpuppy.com -- it's like a baby book for him.
